Masvingo South National Assembly member Cde Walter Mzembi
says while he dedicated most of his time in the UNWTO secretary general
campaign, he is back to serve his constituency, and dismissed as false claims that he had abandoned the constituency.
Hundreds of Zanu PF supporters gathered at Musvovi Village
in Nyajena where they held a meeting with the area’s member of the National
Assembly Cde Mzembi.
Cde Mzembi reassured his constituency that while others
were saying he will not come back to his constituency after the UNWTO campaign,
he is back and is ready to work for the people.
He appealed to the electorate to allow him to finish the
work he had set out for Masvingo South.
Cde Mzembi said: “Makanzwa baba vaMugabe vachiti
komwanakomana munomuvengerei, podakuti mudzamise pfungwa. Ndadzoka chiregai
ndipedzisebasa.”
Cde Mzembi told the audience that the Tokwe Mukosi dam is a
precious gift that they received from government which will improve their
livelihoods.
He explained to them the processes that are currently
underway to ensure that the public starts benefiting from the water body.
In Masvingo South, close to 10 000 hectares of land in
Magudu are expected to be put under irrigation using water from the dam.
Over 25 000 hectares of land is expected to be irrigated
using water from the dam.
