Thursday 23 November 2017

MIDLANDS State University (MSU) has postponed its 2017 graduation ceremony which had been scheduled for tomorrow.

The postponement follows Cde Mugabe’s resignation on Tuesday and the expected inauguration of Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa as the new President tomorrow.
The President, who is the chancellor of all State Universities, officiates at graduation ceremonies.

In a statement posted on its website, MSU said the graduation ceremony will be held on a date to be advised.

“Midlands State University wishes to advise its valued stakeholders that due to circumstances beyond its control, the graduation ceremony which was scheduled for the 24th of November 2017 has been postponed to a date to be advised,” reads the notice.
The university said graduands and guests who have already received invitation cards should keep them.

“The University regrets any inconvenience caused,” read the notice. Cde Mugabe last Friday officiated at the Zimbabwe Open University Graduation ceremony, the last public event he presided over as head of State. chronicle
