MP WALKS FREE FROM COURT

Kwekwe Central MP Masango Matambanadzo (Zanu-PF) and his aide Burden Mawire, who were facing charges of assaulting a party colleague, were acquitted for lack of incriminating evidence at the end of the State case yesterday.

Matambanadzo and Mawire were being charged with assaulting fellow party member, Sabikwa Msipha in Amaveni, Kwekwe, on August 11.

Gweru magistrate, Shotgame Musaiona ruled that evidence proffered by the State could not sustain a conviction.

Allegations were that on August 11 at around 3pm, Matambanadzo and Mawire assaulted Msipha on allegations of plotting his (Matambanadzo) downfall at Bloodspot Building owned by Matambanadzo.
