ZANU PF BEGS FOR $8 MILLION FOR CONGRESS

The Zanu PF National Fundraising Committee has launched an $8 million fundraising bid towards the holding of the 2017 extra ordinary congress scheduled for December in Harare.

Members of the National Fundraising Committee launched the appeal at the party headquarters today, with the Zanu PF secretary for finance who is also the chairman of the National Fundraising Committee, Obert Mpofu appealing to the corporate world and well wishers to contribute towards the successful hosting of the extra ordinary congress.

Each province has been tasked to raise $100 000 and adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure that funds and donations are accounted for, noted Dr Mpofu.

The command agriculture programme managed to surpass  initial expectations with this year’s harvest expected to exceed the projected two million tonnes and Zanu PF deputy secretary for finance, Cde Charles Tawengwa implored beneficiaries of the programme to support the fundraising initiative.

Members of the National Fundraising Committee and provincial chairman attended the launch.

Other events lined up to mobilise resources for the extra ordinary congress include a fundraising dinner, contributions from proceeds raised from the sale of party cards, donations from well wishers as well as contributions raised from businesses that will exhibit at the business expo that will run concurrently with the extra ordinary congress.
The Zanu PF extra ordinary congress which had initially been pencilled for Gwanda in Matabeleland South Province has since been moved to Harare.
