President Robert Mugabe has arrived in Montevideo, the capital city
of Uruguay where he is expected to join other world leaders for the
World Health Organisation global conference on non-communicable
diseases.
His wife, Grace did not fancy travelling to Uruguay. Instead she opted to head to Sochi, Russia where she can shop till she drops.
President Mugabe, who is accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Dr
Walter Mzembi, Health and Child Care Minister Dr David Parirenyatwa,
Presidential spokesperson Mr George Charamba and some senior government
officials, arrived at the Carasco airbase in Montevideo this Tuesday
morning.
The Conference will be held in three segments commencing with the
Dialogue of Member States, United Nations agencies, and non-State
actors.
The second segment will be for ministers from Member States and
United Nations Organisations and National Non-Communicable Diseases
Directors.
Finally, there will be a High-level Segment for Member States and
United Nations Organisations at the level of Heads of State and
Government and Heads of UN organisations.
