CABINET RESHUFFLE NEXT WEEK : MUGABE

President Mugabe has said he is reshuffling his Cabinet next week to weed out underperformers. He told the Zanu PF Youth League Assembly that some of his ministers had failed to live up to expectations and will be axed.

But few see the impending reshuffle as anything but performance. First Lady Grace Mugabe is pushing for the wiping out of Team Lacoste in both party and government. Many expect her to take a seat in Cabinet next week. VP Mnangagwa's wings will be clipped while Prof Jonathan Moyo, who is under the Zimdef cloud, might bounce back at the Information Ministry.

War Vets Minister Minister, Tshinga Dube is expected to be axed while the former taxi driver, Kudzai Chipanga might be rewarded with the Youths Ministry. Nephew Patrick Zhuwao will also be given a bigger role in the Cabinet.

President Mugabe, however said party bigwigs must not insult each other in public, describing it as a big shame. He said differences must be settled in private. Grace spoke briefly and the Mnangagwa salvo never happened.
