MUGABE RETURNS, CAPS 1685 BINDURA GRADUATES



The Chancellor of Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE), President Robert Mugabe has  capped 1685 graduands at the institution main campus in Bindura.

The graduands were drawn from faculties of science, commerce, agriculture and environment science, and the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities.


236 graduated with diplomas, 29 post graduate diplomas, 1249 first degrees and 144 with masters degrees.

BUSE Vice Chancellor, Professor Eddie Mwenje said the 2015/2016 academic year has been one of the most memorable, eventful years.

"Major highlights of the 2015/2016 calendar include the construction of the state of the art 1500 seater capacity library, an increase in PhD members of staff and the hosting of the Mighty Warriors for a period of six weeks in preparation  for their 2016 Rio Olympic games in Brazil,’’ Professor Mwenje said.

He said to compliment the government thrust towards the provision of competent human capital, the institution is rolling out new academic programmes next year.

In separate interviews the graduates could not hide their joy, saying they are now looking forward to new challenges ahead.

The graduation ceremony was graced by various dignitaries that include Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa as well as spouses, relatives and friends of the graduands.

After the graduation ceremony, President Mugabe proceeded to officially open the BUSE town campus library.
