MUGABE CAPS MORE JOBLESS GRADUATES

President Robert Mugabe has conferred Bachelor of Technology degrees to 347 graduands  at the Harare Institute of Technology.

The graduands were from the institute’s four schools namely engineering and technology, industrial sciences, information science, business and management sciences.

In his speech, HIT Vice Chancellor Engineer Quinton Kanhukamwe said the institute has successfully commercialised and designed the registration of intellectual property rights of seven new technologies that were developed by students and can be used by industry.

He said seven patents, six utility models, four industrial designs and 72 copyrights have been successfully filed.

Turning to infrastructure development, Engineer Kanhukamwe said although the institute calls for increased funding support, it is undergoing refurbishment and construction of a multi-purpose workshop, hostel and lecture rooms.
