The opposition MDC-T party continues to lose support in its former stronghold of Bulawayo as was seen when only hundreds of its members headed the call for a protest march against the Zanu PF government.
The much publicised MDC-T protest march saw hundreds of party supporters gather at the Large City Hall parking ground before marching into town.
While the MDC-T was expecting thousands to turn-up for the march, the paltry numbers that came confirm a depleted support base for the opposition party.
MDC-T vice president Thokozani Khupe officiated at the event also attended by party national chairman Lovemore Moyo and other senior officials.
The march, viewed as a challenge to President Mugabe’s One Million Man March held in Harare on Africa Day, was no-where near the hundreds of thousands who marched through the streets of Harare on the 25th of May and were later addressed by the President at Robert Mugabe Square in the capital.
The MDC-T support base continues to dwindle with only hundreds turning up for MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai’s demonstration in central Harare last month. ZBC
