CHOMBO BACKTRACTS ON NO CONFIDENCE VOTES

Zanu PF Secretary for Administration, Dr Ignatius Chombo says the practice of ambushing party members and passing votes of no confidence against them without exhausting all disciplinary channels must come to an end.

Addressing the Zanu PF Mashonaland West Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) meeting in Chinhoyi, Dr Chombo said before a decision is made to expel members, disciplinary issues must first be discussed and dealt with through the appropriate party organs.

Turning to the One Million Man March to be held this Wednesday in solidarity with President Robert Mugabe, Dr Chombo said such programmes give the party an opportunity to measure its strength in mobilising people.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development, Dr Godfrey Gandawa told the PCC of government's plans to establish teachers and polytechnic colleges in Mashonaland West and Matabeleland North provinces.
